Happy New Year!
First things first, I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you a very Happy New Year from me. So, it appears that my last blog was some time ago as I was celebrating reaching the 800 subscribers milestone. My, how things have changed since. Not only did I smash the 1000 barrier in July, I also hit 2000 at the start of December 2018. Bearing in mind my first upload was October 27th 2017, I am over the moon to have reached this milestone in just over 13 months. I cannot thank you all enough for your loyal and continued support and fully appreciate all of the views, likes, comments and general interaction whether it be on the channel or one of my social media sites.
There have been a lot of changes on the channel over the past year or so. When I first started, I basically did everything from the recording, editing, Youtube thumbnails, posting on social media etc, using my trusty old LG G5 camera phone. Now, that phone had a bit of a pounding for the first 8 months of my channel and it finally gave up the ghost during the summer of 2018. I then decided to purchase a few upgrades including a new laptop (HP Pavillion), 2 new webcams (both Logitech C920 Pro), Blue Yeti microphone, reversible tripod (Amazon Basics), softbox lighting, backdrops and stands and some new software (Cyberlink Powerdirector 16 Ultimate Edition).
Obviously, this isn't the best kit out there but it is more than adequate and was what I could afford, so thank the lord for Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday! Hopefully you can all see a marked improvement in the picture and sound quality on the channel, it is a work in progress and there will be more upgrades along the way. Unfortunately, I have to set all of my equipment up in my bedroom so I tend to try and get the recording done on one day of the weekend - the editing is usually carried out during the weekday evenings after work and household duties have been done.
You'll have probably noticed that I have been going 'live' a lot more over the past 3 or 4 months, whether it be on my own or with my pals, Mark Roberts (TVP) and Sean (Sleezy Beezy) Biszantz. Check out my latest live show where I give my Best of 2018 based on items I have reviewed on the channel throughout 2018. There's also an aftershow where I am joined by Mark who gives his comparisons. (Click on the photo below to access the 'Live Shows' section, or search on my YouTube channel). Going forward Mark and myself have decided that the MFTVP show will probably be just once per month during 2019 and I may do some solo shows in between.
Regular viewers of the channel will know that a good deal of the stuff reviewed has actually been purchased by myself, although I have started to receive a few items free of charge recently direct from some manufacturers and vendors, so a huge thank you to those that have believed in my channel, it is very much appreciated.
As far as the reviews are concerned, I still have a few items to review that I received/purchased in 2018. Next up for review will be the Vaper Empire V-Twist Starter Kit followed by the Meson RTA by Newgen Vape. I've also been testing a couple of dual battery regulated mods - the Aspire Skystar & Hcigar Wildwolf, a single coil RDA - Vaperz Cloud Shogun and of course a couple of clone direct to lung RTAs - The Fatality and The Juggerknot. Now, as far as the clones go, I will probably be uploading these exclusively to my Vapetube channel (click pic for link) as YouTube still frown upon reviewers reviewing clones.
I have also ordered the OBS Engine MTL RTA and the JK Mini Clone from Fasttech so watch this space for these reviews. And I am please to say that Dovpo have contacted me and have agreed to send me the Topside Dual 18650, topfilling squonk mod.
I think that is about it from me but would just like to extend my gratitude to all of you out there that have supported my channel over the past 14 months or so and look forward to interacting with you during 2019. For those that haven't yet subscribed, why not lol, but seriously, if you could also subscribe to my Vapetube channel it would mean you can catch up on those exclusive clone videos that I hope to be uploading in the coming weeks. You can also find most of my other reviews over there too but my bread and butter is still my YouTube channel.
I know this has been a bit of a long one, but for those that have made it to the end, thanks for reading and I will catch you very soon, cheers, Mike.
